Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how GlowClear AI ("we", "us", "our") collects, uses, discloses, and otherwise processes information when you use the GlowClear AI mobile application for iOS (the "App"). It also describes your choices and rights.
By using the App, you acknowledge that you have read this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the App.
This policy is designed to work alongside Apple's platform terms and your device settings. It does not describe third-party services you may access through links inside the App (for example, websites opened in Safari), which are governed by their own policies.
Summary
The App helps you analyze food photos and facial photos you choose to submit, and stores certain results and profile details on your device. When you run cloud-based analysis features, images and related inputs may be transmitted to servers operated by us or service providers to generate results. You can delete on-device App data using Settings → Delete My Data. You can contact us about privacy using the email address at the end of this policy.
The App is not a medical device and outputs are for general wellness and educational purposes only.
Who We Are
The data controller for personal data processed in connection with the App is the legal entity identified as the developer or seller of the App on the Apple App Store for your region ("Publisher"). If you have questions about which company is the Publisher, refer to the App Store product page or your purchase receipt.
For privacy requests, contact us at liveglowapp@gmail.com.
Information We Collect
Depending on how you use the App, we may process the following categories of information:
Content you provide. When you choose to capture or import a photo (for example, a food image or a face image) and request analysis, we process that image and any related inputs needed to run the feature.
Profile and preferences. Information you provide during onboarding or in Settings (such as display name, age range, gender, skin type selections, and similar preferences) may be stored on your device to personalize the experience.
Outputs and history. The App may store analysis outputs (such as scores, labels, summaries, thumbnails, and timestamps) on your device so you can view history, trends, and comparisons.
Technical and usage data. We may process limited technical information needed to operate the App and secure our services, such as device type, operating system version, app version, language/locale, diagnostic logs, and error reports.
Subscriptions and purchases. If you purchase a subscription or other paid feature, Apple processes payment. We may receive subscription status, transaction identifiers, or similar information from Apple or our entitlement systems to unlock features.
Facial Photographs (Face Data)
This section describes "face data" as Apple uses the term: still photographs you choose to capture or import that show your face when you use Face Scan. This is not Face ID, TrueDepth identity data, or biometric enrollment templates created by iOS for device authentication.
What we collect: A single face photo (or a photo from your library) per scan you initiate, encoded for transport as JPEG.
How we use it: Solely to generate in-app skin-related wellness insights (scores, labels, summaries, and similar outputs), to show scan history and trends on your device, and to operate, secure, and debug the analysis pipeline.
Third parties and storage: The image is sent over HTTPS to servers we operate, then forwarded to Google LLC's Gemini API for automated vision analysis. Google processes the image only to return the analysis output to our service; Google's processing is governed by Google's terms and privacy documentation applicable to API use. We do not sell face photos and do not share them with data brokers.
Retention: On-device thumbnails, scores, and related history remain until you delete app data (Settings → Delete My Data), uninstall the App, or erase the device. On our servers, the uploaded image is deleted from our primary processing database once analysis completes. All face data is fully removed within 1 month. Backups or residual logs may briefly retain fragments consistent with our infrastructure practices.
Sources of Information
We obtain information from: (1) you, when you enter profile details, enable permissions, or submit content for analysis; (2) your device, when the App reads information needed to operate features you initiate; and (3) Apple, when needed to validate purchases or deliver platform services.
How We Use Information
- Provide, maintain, and improve the App and its features (including generating analysis results you request).
- Store your on-device history and profile settings as described in the App.
- Provide customer support and respond to inquiries.
- Protect the security and integrity of our services, detect fraud or abuse, and enforce our terms.
- Comply with law, regulatory obligations, and lawful requests.
- Communicate important service notices where permitted.
AI Analysis and Automated Outputs
Certain features use automated systems, including machine learning models, to generate estimates, classifications, or explanatory text based on your inputs. For cloud-based face and food scans, submitted images are analyzed using Google LLC's Gemini API (vision-capable model) via our backend; only outputs needed to display your results are returned to the App. Outputs may be imperfect, incomplete, or incorrect. Automated results are not a substitute for professional medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment.
Legal Bases (EEA, UK, and Similar Jurisdictions)
If you are located in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, we rely on one or more of the following legal bases: (1) performance of a contract; (2) legitimate interests; (3) consent, where we expressly ask for it; and (4) legal obligation.
Sharing and Disclosure
We may share information with:
- Service providers who assist us with hosting, networking, security, and AI inference—including Google LLC when we call the Gemini API.
- Professional advisers (such as lawyers or auditors) where necessary.
- Authorities when required to comply with applicable law or to protect the rights, property, or safety of users or the public.
- Corporate transactions such as a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, subject to appropriate safeguards.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share personal information with data brokers for money.
International Transfers
If you use the App outside the country where our service providers are located, your information may be processed in the United States and other countries where privacy laws may differ from those where you live. Where required, we use appropriate safeguards for cross-border transfers.
Retention
On-device data persists until you delete it, uninstall the App, or erase the device. Server-side copies of face images are deleted after each completed scan job. All face data is fully removed within 1 month. Structured results, server logs, and backups may be retained for a period consistent with our infrastructure configuration, legal obligations, and security needs.
Security
We implement technical and organizational measures designed to protect personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or alteration. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure; we encourage you to protect your device with a passcode and keep iOS updated.
Your Choices and Privacy Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or port personal information, and to object to or restrict certain processing. Controls available in the App and iOS include:
- On-device deletion: Settings → Delete My Data removes scan history, thumbnails, and profile fields stored by the App.
- Permissions: You can change camera, photo library, and notification permissions in iOS Settings.
To exercise rights not available in the App, email liveglowapp@gmail.com. You may also lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority.
Children
The App is not directed to children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age where parental consent is required in their jurisdiction (including under 13 in the United States). If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact liveglowapp@gmail.com.
United States Privacy Notices
California (CPRA) and similar U.S. state laws. Depending on your state of residence, you may have rights to confirm/access, delete, correct, and opt out of certain processing. We do not sell personal information or share it for cross-context behavioral advertising as defined by the California Consumer Privacy Act, as amended.
Non-discrimination. We will not discriminate against you for exercising privacy rights where prohibited by law.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the updated version and revise the "Last updated" date. If changes are material, we will provide additional notice as required by law.
